Casting Rate Jester....

Anything I need to know about making one? With my current setup, my jester is pretty much useless on NMHC as far as being able kill things. I'm planning on giving my NM resist capping gear to my DPS monk and starting from scratch.

I have some pieces of armor for this and will farm the rest today hopefully. All points into resist and casting rate? Do I even need resist if I'm shooting from a distance and upgrading around my defenses?

I have a pretty descent genie that I will use. Now as far as a weapon is concerned I'm severely lacking. I might try and buy a blaster, but I heard the name "mana bow" around here somewhere and wondered if this would be something for a CR jester. If so where do I farm it?

Any other thoughts, tips or insight would be great. Don't want to go ruin some gear and waste mana if I don't know what the heck I'm doing

Dungeon Defenders II: Hero Deck

In the first Dungeon Defenders, players could swap between an unlimited number of heroes during a match. This had several benefits, including the ability for individuals to access more than just one set of defenses. It also encouraged players to create multiple heroes -- and sometimes specialized versions of the same hero -- to use in a single match.

But this system created a few issues. Leveling multiple heroes became the only way to play -- you couldn’t complete the late-game content using a single hero. In addition to this, it discouraged true, four-player co-op in which every player has the chance to contribute to the build strategy. Instead, designated builders would bring in their heroes and tell other players not to take part in the defensive setup.

Ultimately, we want players to embrace the strengths of their teammates. We also want to make it possible to complete the entirety of the online co-op game with a single hero, if that’s what you desire. To facilitate this, we’ve created the Hero Deck, which plays up the positives of the DD1 system while fixing some of the key issues.

HeroDeck

The Hero Deck lets you bring a selection of heroes into battle. At the moment, players can add three individual heroes to their deck. Just like the first Dungeon Defenders, you can go to the Forge to swap between these heroes during the Build Phase. And your ability and defense mana now transfers between heroes when you swap, so no more dropping mana on the ground and cursing when someone walks by and swipes it!

The Hero Deck has encouraged teams in our Defense Council to develop strategies that involve all players, not just a designated builder. We’ve watched players use our revamped Ping system to ask each other to build blockades, auras, towers and traps, which is something that was rarely seen in DD1 public matches.

The Hero Deck is still in the early stages of development, and it’s already sparked some great discussion among our Councillors. For example: What if you’re playing solo and you want to access every defense and hero combination? Or what if you’re playing with friends, and you want one person to build everything like in DD1? We’re still working on how the Hero Deck system will address these concerns, but this feedback and perspective is invaluable to us as we move forward with development, so keep it coming!

Hello community!

I have come up with an idea I have the urge to share with you guys. Feel free to judge it bad, i want to know every thought of you about this.

A little story before the idea:
Today, Trendy posted a new article about Hero Decks. link.
As they said, this fixed the problem of having one member of a game set all the defenses while ordering everyone not to set any, as for some people, this could have taken out a massive part of the game experience, or led to heated arguements. These cards they introduced only partly solves the problem yet. I came up with an idea for that, which i will quote here, so you can read it. My other idea i want so share is based on it.

Or you can limit this even more. There would be 2 kinds of cards, like permanent and defense-only.
With permanent, you change your character and stay the same for eternity or changing again.
With defense-only, you can only switch for the building part, and when the wave starts, you are switched back immediately.
This would force players on high difficulty or with time-limits to precalculate where and what defense they want to make, as they can only build them for a limited time. Defense-only cards would have a quick-bar so you can switch without reaching the forge.

Then, you can give mixed cards, like:
1 player: 2 perma 2 def.
2 players: 1 perma 2 def.
3 players: 1 perma 1 def.
4 players: 1 def. (or 1 perma, depends on difficulty)
This way of thinking lead me to this idea: a designer.
This would be a special, pre-determined role in games. The highest level player would be assigned to be designer, but it can be transfered.

The base of the idea is that, this developer can lay out frames of defenses. He can place any defense(regardless of character) on the map. These "frames" wouldn't do anything, they would be almost transparent. The purpose of them would be marking for other players where and which tower would be effective, necessary. Of course, there would be a limit(the limit for normal defenses, without counting existing ones) to the amount of "frames", so a designer can't mess around and block line of sight, etc... Also, there would be a key to toggle the visibility of these markers on the map and in the game, if you want to build on your own. This feature would be determined by the server, wouldn't be obligatory. The designer would have a special menu with all the avaliable towers.

So I've had this thing for a while just because I thought the mana value was funny, but I didn't realize how ironic it was until I looked at it a bit more closely.

xbox 360: Tower attack rate bug fixed?

I see information saying that the xbox 360 version still has the tower attack rate bug, but I saw the patch notes thread and it says it is fixed. I added a point to my attack speed as an apprentice and had towers setup on test dummies in the tavern and the DPS did not go up (from 70 total points to be 71 total points [char + equip]) so it seems to be bugged still... I thought maybe I needed to re-summon the towers, but I increased tower damage stats and the DPS went up, so I'm thinking the Attack speed should have increased dps also. Is there a definate word on whether this is fixed or not?
